Deborah Jane Batt NS, NAPA My work embodies both the abstract and representational and comes originally from the idea of community, the co-existence of our urban life, architecture, nature and the rural landscape. The towns and structures we build and the way we shape and destroy and neglect the natural and urbanised landscape. I hope to show the shape of the environment as it changes, diminishing in one direction, growing in another. My paintings are composed of layers of acrylic paint, pencil and pen, the abstract vibrant with colour and the representational almost monochrome. I am a listed artist on the AXIS database and have exhibited at galleries throughout the UK. I am a member of the National Society of Painters, Sculptors and Printmakers & The National Acrylic Painters Association.
