DEBORAH JANE BATT ...NS NAPA Art has been the focus of Deborah's life for as long as she can recall. She has developed a reputation for colourful, structured and adventurous work. Self-taught, she has not been influenced by any school of thought or method, an important factor in her development as an artist, creating a style which is truly innovative and free flowing, a juxtaposition of colour form and shape. "Although
my paintings have become increasingly non-objective over the years, "Non- objective artwork is an exercise in geometric abstraction, space related to shape. My subject being the painting itself. Non-objective art explores the potential of abstraction, the shape, brush marks, colours, tones, lines and texture. This lets the viewer respond emotionally to the painting. My vocabulary of communication is the fusion of colour and structure". Exhibitions 2009 Ideas
